DRAWINGS
The foundation of everything is the drawing itself. Trained in illustration, images are crafted to fill the space and tell a clear story. Most are character drawings - even if that character is a grapefruit.
Childhood Outdoor Series:
These three images were part of a series I created about my childhood. It's probably idealized (I didn't spend nearly as much time outdoors as these images might suggest) but they are bunched memories of living outdoors from spring to fall.

Sketches:   These are recent sketches. One is pencil on newsprint. It's rough and weird and stream-of-consciousness. The other is pastel on pastel paper of a grapefruit. It's bright and graphic and bold. They're both about 12" x 16",

Illustration: The following images are very much illustrations. My background training in children's book illustration shines through. I love the bold line of a comic/graphic novel and the story you can tell in one frame. They're playful and unfussy.
